Privacy policy · Effective July 15, 2026
Your scores stay yours.
PuttButler is designed to work without accounts, advertising, behavioral analytics, or a developer-operated cloud service. This policy explains the small amount of information that may still be handled by your iPhone and Apple platform services.
The short version
- PuttButler does not require an account or sign-in.
- Your players, rounds, and scores are stored locally on your device.
- PuttButler does not sell personal information or use advertising trackers.
- PuttButler does not use your scores for product analytics.
- Optional tips are processed by Apple as in-app purchases.
Information stored on your device
PuttButler stores the information you enter—such as player names, rounds, and scores—locally on your iPhone. Derek Lockovich and Shamrocko do not operate servers that receive or store this scorekeeping information.
If you remove PuttButler or erase its local data, copies may remain in device backups until those backups are replaced or deleted through your Apple account settings.
Backups and exports
Your PuttButler data may be included in an iPhone or iCloud device backup according to your Apple backup settings. Apple operates those backup services under its own terms and privacy policy.
If you choose to export a backup from PuttButler, iOS lets you select the destination or recipient. PuttButler does not receive a copy of the exported file. After export, the file is governed by the privacy and security practices of the destination you chose.
Crash diagnostics
PuttButler does not use behavioral or advertising analytics. If you have enabled sharing diagnostics with app developers in your Apple settings, Apple may provide limited crash and performance reports. These reports may contain technical details such as the app version, operating-system version, device model, and information about what failed.
Diagnostics are used only to identify and fix stability problems. They are not used to profile you, track your rounds, or sell advertising.
Tips and purchases
PuttButler may offer optional tips through Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple processes payment information and the transaction. PuttButler does not receive your full payment-card details. Apple may provide transaction records needed to confirm the purchase and aggregated financial reporting.
Device permissions
Normal scorekeeping does not require access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or Bluetooth. When you export a backup, Apple's sharing interface may offer destinations and services that you have already configured on your device.
Children's privacy
PuttButler is suitable for a general audience. Because PuttButler has no accounts and does not send scorekeeping information to developer-operated servers, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data disclosure and retention
PuttButler does not have a developer-operated database of user scores to disclose or retain. Information stored locally remains on your device until you remove it, uninstall the app, erase the device, or manage related backups. Technical diagnostics supplied by Apple are retained only as reasonably needed to investigate and fix app problems.
Changes to this policy
If PuttButler's data practices change, this page will be updated before those changes take effect where practical. The effective date at the top will show when the policy was last revised.
